An Inside View of Teachers Talking about Teaching: Threads from NCTE-Talk

      The National Council of Teachers of English keeps an archive, open to the public, of several of its listservers. To visit it, click on the following: Link to the NCTE-Talk Archives Although it is considered an archive, the threads stored at NCTE seem to disappear after time. For this reason, and others, I have collected many of the threads myself and have stored them here -- for my use, for the use of my students, and for anyone else who is interested.
     As anyone who has participated in a fairly busy listserver knows, threads are sometimes difficult to follow, responses to messages are copied in replies, and different people sign their names differently. In the threads stored here, I have simply used "Copy" and "Paste" to copy messages from the body of e-mail messages to an html document. Unless it seemed necessary in order to understand a message, I did not copy the copies of originals. In the posters' name was in the message, I copied it, as well.
