Today most people get their news from television and radio. Read these television news reports.
1. The Carlisle Bobcats won the summer league championship today by defeating the Parksburgh Lions 4©3. A record crowd of over 1500 turned out at Lincoln Field to watch a game that
stayed tied 3©3 from the first inning until the bottom of the ninth. Then Josh Myer slid home on a dropped third strike, clinching the title for Carlisle.
2. Seven©year©old Timothy Belinsky was rescued late this afternoon from flood©swollen Bisby Creek. Timothy Belinsky was clinging to a fallen tree when a Constanza Lopez spotted him. Ms. Lopez was jogging across the Rampart Street bridge when she heard Timothy's cries for help. Ms. Lopez ran to the creek bank where she used a fallen branch to haul Timothy ashore.
3. An elderly Langley Park widow whose home was damaged by last week's brushfire got some help from her neighbors today. When Mrs. Annette Corso looked out her window this morning, she found 30 students from the Madison Middle School clearing her front yard. The young people removed debris, planted grass, and rebuilt fencing. The Corso property suffered $5000 damage in the fire.
