Aluminum is an abundent metal that comes in many forms and has many uses. It comes from a claylike ore called bauxite. Bauxite contains several other substances. To remove these substances workers grind up the bauxite and place it in presurized tanks. The other substances form a mass and are removed with filters. After that, only a liquid remains. After putting the liquid through several other processes, it finally yields a white, powdery chemical. Workers then separate the aluminum from the oxygen using electricity. They finally produce a light metal with a bright silvery luster.
