Aluminum is an abundant metal with many uses. Aluminum comes from an ore called Bauxite. Bauxite looks like clay and contains aluminum and several other substances. workmen extract these other substances then grind the Bauxite. They then put the Bauxite in pressurized tanks. In the tanks the other substances form a mass, this mass is then removed by use of filters. All that is left is a liquid that they process several times to create a powdery white chemical, this is alumina. Alumina is a mixture of aluminum and oxygen that is seperated using electricity. The final product is a shinny and light metal that is silvery. This metal, aluminum, comes in many forms.
