Aluminum is a metal that is very common and has many uses. Aluminum comes from Bauxite which is an ore. Bauxite looks like clay and contains aluminum and several other substances. Workmen extract these other substances from Bauxite. The Workmen then grind the bauxite and the place it in pressurized tanks. The other substances leaves a mass which is removed through filters leaving it in a liquid state. They then put it through several other processes which finally yields a chemical. Alumina, a powdery white chemical is produced. Alumina is a mixture that contains aluminum and oxygen. Workmen seperate the Aluminuim from the oxygen with electricity. They finally produce a light metal that has a bright, silvery luster. This type of metal comes in several different varities.
