Aluminum is an abundant metal that has many uses. It comes from bauxite which is an ore. Bauxite looks like clay and contains aluminum and several other substances. Workers extract the other substances from the bauxite and then grind it. It is then put in pressurized tanks. The other substances form a mass which is removed by filters. A liquid remains which is put through several other processes which yields a chemical. The chemical is a white powder which is alumina. It is a mixture that contains aluminum and oxygen. They seperate the aluminum from the oxygen with electricity. It finally produces a metal. The metal is light has a luster and comes in many forms.
