Aluminum is a very abundant (2) metal (1), and it has many uses (3). Aluminum comes from bauxite (4), an ore (5) that looks like clay (6). Bauxite by itself contains aluminum (7) as well as other substances (9). Workmen extract these other substances (10) and then (1) grind (11) down the bauxite. The bauxite is placed (12) in a pressure (13) tank while the other substances form a mass (14). Once the mass is formed (1), they remove (15) it through filters (16) so that only the liquid remains (17). Several other processes (18) are performed, finally yielding a chemical (19) with a powdery (20) white (21) appearance. This chemical is known as alumina (22), a mixture (23) that contains aluminum (24) and oxygen (25). Next the workmen separate the aluminum and the oxygen (26) by using electricity (27), finally producing a metal (28). This metal's characteristics are that it is light (29), it has a bright (31), silvery (32) luster (30), and it comes in many forms (33).
