Aluminum is an abundant (2) metal (1) with a variety of uses (3). It comes from (4) bauxite, which is an ore (5) that looks like clay (6). Bauxite contains aluminum (7) as well as many (8) other substances (9). Workmen must first (1) extract the substances from the bauxite (10) and put (12) it into pressured (13) tanks. After this step a liquid remains (17) which is put through many processes (18) until it finally yeilds (19) a chemical. The chemical is a white (21) powdery (20) mixture (23) called alumina (22) which contains aluminum (24). The alumina also contains oxygen (25). Workmen must then work to seperate the oxygen and the aluminum (26) by using electricity (27). After this they finally produce a metal (28). The metal, or aluminum in its final form (1), is light (29) in weight (2) and very shiny (30). It is then shipped out to different companies and manufacturers (3) where it will then be formed into different materials (33).
