Aluminum is an abundant (2) metal (1), with many uses (3). It is produced (4) in (1) an ore (5) called bauxite. Bauxite looks like clay (6), but it contains many (8) substances (9) including aluminum (7). To be useful (1) the aluminum must be extracted from the bauxite and other substances (10).
The bauxite is placed (12) into pressurized (13) tanks which causes the other substances to form a mass (14). This mass is filtered (16) out (15) leaving a liquid (17). The liquid is put through many more processes (18), unitl it yields a chemical (19). The white (21), powdery (20) cemical is alumina (22), which is a mixture (23) of oxygen (25) and aluminum (24).
Using electricity (27), workmen separate the oxygen from the aluminum (26). After the oxygen is extracted (2) all that is left is a lusterous (30), silvery (32) metal (28). The metal is aluminum, which has many, many forms (33).
