Aluminum is a abundant metal that comes from bauxite. Bauxite is a ore that looks like clay and contains aluminum along with many other substances. Workmen extract these other substances by grinding the bauxite and putting it in pressurized tanks. The workers remove the unwanted materials with filters as a result a liquid remains. They put the liquid through more processes which yeilds a powdery white chemical. The chemical is alumina which is a mixture of aluminum and oxygen. Workmen use electricity to separate the aluminum from the oxygen. They finally produce a light, bright, silvery metal that comes in many forms.
