Aluminum is an abundant metal that has many uses. It comes from bauxite, an ore that resembles clay. Bauxite  contains aluminum, as well as several other substances. Workmen grind the bauxite and put it into pressure tanks to extract these other substances. These substances are filtered to form a mass. After removing the mass, a liquid remains. This is put through severl other processes to finally yield a chemical. This chemical is a white, powdery mixture called alumina. It contains oxygen and aluminum. Workmen use electricity to produce a metal by separating the aluminum from the oxygen. Thie metal is light, bright, silvery, lustrous, and comes in many forms.
