Aluminum is an abundant metal with many uses. It comes from Bauxite, which is a clay like ore that contains many other substances, one of which is the Aluminum. At plants when workmen extract the substances from Bauxite, they first grind the ore, then place it in pressurized tanks where a mass is formed. Continuing the process, the workers use filters to extract everything except a liquid, which is treated and in the end yeilds a chemical called alumina. Alumina is a powdery white, it is a mixture of aluminum and oxygen. Using electricity the oxygen is removed, producing pure aluminum. Pure Aluminum is very light, it has luster, which is its shinyness, and it is silver in color. The comon metal comes in many forms and has many uses.
