     "How do you do, sir?"

     "How do you do, boys?"

     "You have a nice bear there, sir.

We like to see him play. Where

did you get him?"

     "I was hunting with my dogs,

and saw a little bear up in a tree.

I cut the tree down, and as soon as

it fell, the dogs and I caught him."

     "Were you not afraid of him?"

     "O no! he was too small to hurt

me then. You like to see him play,

do you?"

     "Yes, sir. What can he do?"

     "He can hold a stick in his paws,

dance very well on his hind legs,

and do many other funny things."
