You might want to start by reading, or otherwise sharing, the text, which is short, with the students, thereby providing them with the context of the passage. If students are having trouble identifying S/V/C patterns, you might then want to have them do the analysis exercise. Otherwise, you can simply give them the model sentence exercise. As always, it is a good idea to have the students share what they write with their classmates.
