1. Put parentheses ( ) around each prepositional phrase.
2. Underline subjects once, finite verbs twice, and label complements ("PN," "PA," "IO," "DO").
 

1. It would not be so hard, if he were like other mortals.

2. If grandfather were here, he would fasten it.

3. "God be with you," said the parson, and left him sadly.
