Exercise # 1


Combine the following sentences in as many ways as you logically can. Write your answers on separate paper. After each version, briefly explain how it affects the focus and meaning.

1. The habit of smoking however is not just a physical one.  A user usually develops a psychological addiction to tobacco as well.

2. Nicotine has many serious withdrawal symptoms. The user may experience cravings, irritability, insomnia, tiredness, shaky hands, headaches, depression and/or anxiety.
