Fourth graders probably consider themselves too old to be singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" in school, but perhaps they will enjoy it as part of a brief grammar review exercise. (Like all the exercises in this month, this one is intended to be one of the two or three short exercises that students do each week after they have mastered the basic concepts for fourth grade.)
Because the last two lines of this six-line poem repeat the first two, it should not take too long to review this exercise in class. The poem does, however, raise some interesting questions about parts of speech and alternate explanations. (See the analysis keys.) Because this text is so short, the key for level three includes everything that is in the key for level two.
