I'm guessing that fourth graders would enjoy
a short change of pace in class. A quick review of this short exercise
and a short song (and clapping) might be just the thing. Meanwhile, of
course, it would keep subjects, verbs, direct objects, and predicate nouns
from slipping from students' memories. The analysis key for level three
includes everything that is on the key for level two.
Because this song repeats the same text for
six stanzas, I have included only the first in the exercise. The complete
lyrics follow:
B-I-N-G-O
There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name.
B-I-N-G-O!
B-I-N-G-O!
B-I-N-G-O!
And Bingo was his name!
There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name.
(Clap)-I-N-G-O!
(Clap)-I-N-G-O!
(Clap)-I-N-G-O!
And Bingo was his name!
There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name.
(Clap, clap)-N-G-O!
(Clap, clap)-N-G-O!
(Clap, clap)-N-G-O!
And Bingo was his name!
There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name.
(Clap, clap, clap)-G-O!
(Clap, clap, clap)-G-O!
(Clap, clap, clap)-G-O!
And Bingo was his name!
There was a farmer had a dog
And Bingo was his name.
(Clap, clap, clap, clap)-O!
(Clap, clap, clap, clap)-O!
(Clap, clap, clap, clap)-O!
And Bingo was his name!
There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name.
(Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap)
(Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap)
(Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap)
And Bingo was his name!
