Aluminum is a metal
(1) that is abundant (2) and has
many uses (3). Bauxite is an ore (5) that
looks
like clay (6). It contains aluminum (7)
and many (8) other substances (9). Workmen
extract these other substances (10) by grinding
the bauxite (11) and
putting (12) it
in pressurized (13) tanks. A mass
will then be formed (14). Workmen will remove
the mass (15) and (1) filter
(16) it until only a liquid remains (17).
After several processes (18) a chemical
is finally yielded (19). The chemical is a white
(21) powdery (20) substance called
alumina
(22). Alumina is a mixture (23) that
contains aluminum (24) and
oxygen
(25). By using electricity (27) these
workmen seperate (26) the mixture resulting
in a new (1) metal (28).
This metal, which comes in many forms (33),
is very light (29) and has a
bright
(31) silvery (32) luster (30).
