     Aluminum is a very useful and abundant metal. It is extracted from a claylike substance called bauxite. Workmen extract aluminum and several other substances from bauxite by grinding it and placing it into pressurized tanks. This produces a liquid containg the aluminum. After several other processes a white, powdery chemical containing alumina remains. Alumina is a mixture containing aluminum and oxygen. Workmen use electricity to seperate the two elements. The light aluminum remaining has a bright sivery luster that comes in many forms
