Aluminum is an abundant metal with many uses. It is contained in a clay-like ore called Bauxite. Bauxite also contains several other substances that are extracted through grinding. To do this, workmen put the bauxite in a pressurized tank. The other substances form a mass which is then removed. They take the remaining substances and filter them until a liquid is extracted. After several other processes, a white powdery chemical called alumina is extracted. Alumina is a mixture containing aluminum and oxygen. These elements are seperated using electricity which produces a metal. The metal is light with a silvery bright luster that can come in many forms.
