Aluminum is an abundant metal, which happens to come from an ore known as Bauxite. Bauxite also contains other substances. To extract the other elements from the Bauxite workmen must go through several processes.
First they must grind the Bauxite, and put the substance into pressure tanks. The other substances form a mass which is removed by filters. Only liquid remains after the filtering process. The liquid is put through several more processes before yeilding a powdery white chemical, alumina. Alumina is a mixture of aluminum and oxygen.
By using electricity the aluminum and oxygen are seperated which in turn produces a light metal. The metal has a bright silvery luster and comes in many forms.
