Aluminum is an abundant metal that has many uses. Aluminum comes from a clay like ore called Bauxite. Aluminum also contains several other substances that workmen extract from the Bauxite. To do this the workmen grind the Bauxite, then put it in pressurized tanks. In the tank the Bauxite forms a mass, they remove the mass with filters so only a liquid is left. After that, they put it through several other processes, until it yeilds a powdery white chemical call alumina. Alumina is a mixture that contains aluminum and oxygen. To produce the metal, workmen seperate the aluminum from the oxygen using electricity. When the process is done aluminum is a bright silvery metal that comes in many forms.
