Aluminum is a metal that has many uses and is abundant. It comes from bauxite which is an ore and it looks like clay. Bauxite contains aluminum and several other substances. Workmen extract these substances by grinding it and putting the ground bauxite into pressurized tanks. They remove the remaining mass and put it through several filters to produce a liquid which is then put through several processes until it yields a chemical. This chemical is a white powder called alumina that contains aluminum and oxygen. The workmen use electricity to seperate the aluminum from the oxygen to produce a metal. This metal is light with a bright silvery luster that comes in many forms.
