Aluminum is a metal which is abundant and has many uses. It comes from bauxite which is an ore that looks like clay and contains aluminum. Bauxite contains several other substances also. Workmen extract these other substances from the bauxite by grinding the bauxite and putting it in pressurized tanks. The other substances form a mass which is removed by the use of filters. The liquid that remains is put through several other processes and finally yields the chemical. powdery. The chemical alumina is white and is a mixture that contains aluminum and oxygen. Workmen separate the aluminum from the oxygen by using electricity. They finally produce a metal which is light, has a bright silvery luster and comes in many forms
