Aluminum is an abundant metal with many uses. This metal is found in the ore Bauxite, which resembles clay. Bauxite contains aluminum along with several other substances. These substances can be extracted through a long process. The bauxite is grinded and put into pressurized tanks. The other substances form a mass, which is then filtered producing a liquid. After the liquid is put through several other processes it yields a white, powdery chemical called alumina. Alumina is a mixture that contains aluminum and oxygen. The aluminum can be separated from the oxygen through the use of electricity, which produces a light metal with a bright, silvery luster that comes in many forms.
