Aluminum is a very abundant metal with many purposes. It is extruded from an ore know as bauxite. This clay-like substance contains not only aluminum, but many other substances. Workmen has a process in which they extract these substances. so to acquire the aluminum. By grinding the bauxite and placing it in a pressurized tank, they can remove the other substances because they form a mass. After filtering, a liquid remains which is placed through several other processes. Finally a white, powdery chemical called alumina is yeilded. This is a mixture that contains aluminum and oxygen. Using electricity, workmen can seperate these two materials to produce the metal. This comes in many forms and has a bright silvery luster.
