     My family I have four people (DO){in my family.}There is a

mother (PN), father (PN), sister (PN) and me (PN)We 

like to play Note # 1 tennis, ride bikes, take walks and do a lot 

{of other things.} First I'll tell you (IO) {about my mommy.} She 

doesn't have a job (DO). she's a housewife (PN) while I am 

{in school} my mom goes out. Now my dad drives a bread truck

(DO) {for Xxxxxx baking company.} We get a lot (DO) {of donuts,

pies, cookies and cupcakes.} My sister is a pain (PN) sometimes 

but we get along pretty good. She thinks Note #2 she's a big girl 

(PN) when she hangs {from the bars} {in our yard.} And last it's 

me (PN). Well I like to do gymnastics, play tennis, ride 

bike and play soccer. 

     My house is {on 428 Xxx Drive.} It is not very big (PA). It's 

a one story five rooms. Note #3 Plus a pantrey. I have a 

bathroom (DO), kitchen (DO), living room (DO) and two 

bedrooms (DO). {Outside of my house} I have a carport (DO)

{with shads} and a swing (DO). {In the yard} we have a small 

playground (DO) {with bars swingset and a plastic horse} we can 

ride on. {In two} {of our trees} there are squirrel boxes (PN)

that's all (PN) {about my house.}

     The worst day I spent was Note #2 when my momy told me 

(IO) my aunt died and had to go Note #4 {to school.} I worried

and worried all day longShe was {on oxgen} and she went to

sleep my other aunt came to check {on her} and when she 

came down she was laying {on the bed.}
 

Notes

1. At this level, I wopuld accept "like to play" as the finite verb, should students offer it.

2. Don't expect students to be able to identify clauses as complements. That will come in Level Three.

3. In the previous level, I marked "a one story five" as all adjectives, but at this level students themselves should see that "rooms" (plural) cannot be a predicate noun to "it." The easiest way to analyze this is to look at what it means -- "It's a one story *house (PN) with* five rooms.

4. One of the advantages of the KISS Approach is that by making students attend to the structure of sentences, especially their own, students can't help but notice silly mistakes like this one.
